Summary of the work

Project Overview

Following the acquisition of VAG Group by Georg Fischer (GF), the Klamflex website required more than a conventional redesign. The platform needed to evolve alongside the company’s new corporate structure while retaining the established Klamflex product offering and technical information relied upon by engineers, contractors and industry professionals.

We redeveloped the website as a WordPress CMS-driven system, providing the client with greater control over website content, products, technical documentation and project information.

A key component of the redevelopment was the alignment of the Klamflex digital presence with GF’s corporate identity and brand guidelines, ensuring that the website reflected its position within the wider GF organisation while maintaining the Klamflex brand and its established product offering.

The redevelopment also incorporated custom front-end functionality for technical documentation, including cache-busting functionality for PDF manuals, ensuring that updated engineering documents are served to users without outdated cached versions being displayed.

The result is a modern, responsive and scalable platform that combines structured industrial product information with a CMS architecture designed for ongoing content management and future growth.

The Challenge

The existing website required a comprehensive redevelopment to improve the way Klamflex’s extensive range of pipe fittings, technical documentation and completed projects were presented online.

At the same time, VAG Group had undergone a significant corporate change. GF completed its acquisition of VAG Group in September 2025, with VAG becoming part of GF’s Industry and Infrastructure Flow Solutions division from 1 October 2025.

This introduced an additional requirement: the Klamflex website needed to align with the Georg Fischer corporate identity and applicable GF brand guidelines, while continuing to represent Klamflex’s established products and market presence.

The website also contained technical documentation that is important to engineers and other industry users. Ensuring that users always receive the latest version of technical and installation manuals was therefore an important technical consideration.

The redevelopment needed to address several objectives:

We delivered a complete redevelopment of the Klamflex website using WordPress as a CMS-driven platform, replacing the previous approach with a more flexible content-management architecture.

The website was redesigned and developed around the requirements of an engineering and manufacturing audience, with emphasis placed on clear information architecture, technical content accessibility and responsive performance across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

The visual and structural design was developed to bring Klamflex into alignment with the Georg Fischer corporate identity, following the acquisition of VAG Group. The implementation balances the requirements of the parent company’s brand system with Klamflex’s existing product and market identity.

Product information was structured into accessible digital catalogues, while technical and installation manuals were integrated into the website so that important documentation can be accessed directly by users.

Custom front-end cache-busting functionality was also implemented for PDF documentation. This ensures that when technical manuals are replaced or updated, users receive the latest version rather than an outdated cached copy, an important consideration for a website serving engineering documentation.

The redevelopment was complemented by SEO implementation and performance-focused development to provide a strong technical foundation for the site’s ongoing growth.

Brand Integration

A key aspect of this redevelopment was the integration of the Klamflex website into the Georg Fischer ecosystem following GF’s acquisition of VAG Group.

GF officially completed the acquisition of VAG Group on 30 September 2025, with VAG becoming part of GF’s Industry and Infrastructure Flow Solutions division from 1 October 2025. GF describes the acquisition as strengthening its flow-solutions portfolio, particularly within water infrastructure and industrial applications.

The Klamflex website therefore required a visual and structural approach capable of reflecting its relationship with the wider GF organisation while continuing to communicate Klamflex’s own products, technical capabilities and market offering.

This required careful consideration of:

  • Corporate brand alignment.

  • Typography and visual hierarchy.
  • Colour and design-system implementation.
  • Consistent presentation of company and product information.
  • Integration of the Klamflex identity within the broader GF brand environment.
  • Maintaining a professional visual language appropriate for the engineering and infrastructure sector.

Technical Documentation & Cache Management

Because the Klamflex website provides technical documentation used by industry professionals, ensuring the delivery of current documentation was an important technical requirement.

Custom front-end cache-busting functionality was implemented for PDF manuals. When a document is updated, the website can append a version parameter to the resource, preventing browsers and intermediary caching mechanisms from unnecessarily serving an older version.

This provides greater confidence that engineers and other users accessing technical documentation are viewing the latest available version.

SEO & Digital Visibility

The redevelopment included a comprehensive on-page SEO implementation designed to establish a stronger technical foundation for organic search visibility.

The implementation focused on:
